Privacy

What is stored

Your account: email address, display name, password (as a bcrypt hash, so nobody here can read it), country, timezone, light or dark, reminder settings, and the date you joined.

Your play: every quiz you have taken, the answers you picked, your times, scores, streaks, badges, leagues and challenges. This is the game. Without it there is no streak and no leaderboard.

Who invited you, if you joined through somebody’s challenge link. Recorded once, so they get the credit.

What is never done

Cookies

One, set when you sign in, holding a signed token that keeps you signed in. Never sign in and you are never given one, which is why there is no cookie banner here: there is nothing to consent to. Your light or dark choice stays in your own browser.

The free quiz

Playable without an account, and plays are counted. A play records that a quiz began, when it finished and the score. No name, no account, no IP address, nothing identifying a device. The count cannot be traced back to a person, including by us.

Email

A password reset when you ask for one, and a daily reminder if you switch it on. Every reminder has a one-click unsubscribe, and settings has a switch. Delivery is handled by Resend.

What other players see

Your display name, your country flag and your scores, on the leaderboards and in leagues. Never your email address. Your display name is yours to change any time.

Any signed-in player can also open your profile page and see your streak, your personal bests, the categories you play and the badges you have earned. It is the same figures already on the leaderboards, gathered in one place.

Your data, your call

It is kept on a server in Europe for as long as you have an account, and backed up nightly so a mistake can be undone.

You can delete your account yourself, in settings. It removes everything: your quizzes, scores, streak, badges and your place on every board. It cannot be undone.

For anything else, email admin.7trivia@gmail.com for a copy of what is held about you or to have something corrected. No reason needed.

You also have the right to raise a concern with the data protection authority in your country, though emailing admin.7trivia@gmail.com will be faster.
